March 1, 2013 : Fr. Franklin D'Souza, Catholic Charismatic Preacher and ICYM National Director from New Delhi conducted one day Recollection to the S.V.P group of Bangalore Archdiocese on February 24th 2013 . Bro. Luke Vattoly host council president welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Noronha, Spiritual Advisor of Bangalore Central Council led the recollection with prayer and introductory speech. Bro Anthony Luiz, President of Bangalore Central Council gave a short message.
Fr. Franklin took a motivation session based on Luke 5:1-11. He told there are three types of people; come & go, Let me do something and Why not I. I am happy that you have taken up important mission of the Christ in the Church. He thanked them for taking up the mission for helping the poor through SVP. He encouraged them to set an example for youth and other faithful in the parishes as well as in the dioceses. Then he explained the qualities of a leader in the Church. He told they should Love as Jesus loved. He explained the Leadership of Jesus by saying He was a Loving, Encouraging, Able, Disciplined, Enthusiastic as well as Reliable LEADER.
Then he prepared the group for confession. After the lunch confessions were organized. At 3 PM Most Rev. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore celebrated Holy Mass and prayed for the SVP members. There were 450 SVP members from all over Bangalore also some from Mandya and Mysore.
Being National Youth Director Fr. Franklin also spoke about National Youth Mission and today's Youth Reality. He invited SVP members to motivate young people in the mission of Jesus by setting an example by their good work.
