11th October, 2013, Jalandhar, Punjab: The ICYM recognized and appreciated all those youth who contributed to the Society and Church in their Diocese during the ongoing IX National Youth Convention here on 11th October 2013.

Fr. Franklin welcomed all the awardees and all the dignitaries present for the award ceremony and said “This is for their encouragement of all those youth who worked hard in their Dioceses to make difference in the society and Church.” And he said that this would help them to continue the great work they have been doing.
The following is the list of awardees from each region:



Mr. Arun A J from Karnataka Region, speaking about his experience of receiving the award said, “I thank God and my parents for choosing me to receive this award. It is big platform for me to achieve great heights.” He told the youth, “Always have faith in God and Never Give up is what I have learned from ICYM. The speakers I have listened to through ICYM convention has made me what I am.”

Miss Jerry Paulus, the awardee from Kerala Region speaking about her experience said , “I feel so proud to stand here to receive this award. I thank my parents for their support and encouragement and all in KYCM.”

Miss. Olima Minj, the National Youth President speaking on the occasion said, “I congratulate all the awardees. Its special for you and ICYM. It’s a gesture to acknowledge your commitment to ICYM not expecting anything in return. Keep it up and all the best.”

Archbishop Leo Cornelio encouraging the awardees said ‘the greatness of a person does not consist in winning a battle but being consistent in winning is an example of greatness. I congratulate the national awardees. They are an inspiration for us all. In life you may fall ten times. Do not give up. Get up one more time. Life that is lived in love and commitment leads to success.” He also thanked the Office Bearers of ICYM and all the organizers for making this convention a success.


Fr. Franklin also congratulated all the awardees and wished them success. He also thanked all for making “history by collecting Rs. 23000 for Yuva Gram Project in a single day.”
