September 13,2021 : His Excellency Most Rev Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga has appointed Rev. Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque as the Chancellor of the Diocese.

Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque hails from Bondel Parish of Mangalore Diocese and was ordained on May 19, 1999 for the Diocese of Shimoga. He has served in various positions like Assistant Parish Priest at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga; as Mission Director at St. Francis Xavier's Church, Channagiri; as Parish Priest at Our Lady of Velankanni Church, Old Town, Bhadravati and as Parish Priest of Christ the King Church, Jogfalls. At present he is serving as Parish Priest of Infant Jesus Church, Sharavatingar, Shivamogga.

He took charge from Bishop Francis Serrao SJ on 11th September 2021 at Bishop's House. Bishop thanked outgoing chancellor Rev. Fr Stany D'Souza. Diocesan commissions coordinator and Pastoral Centre Director Rev. Fr Duming Dias was present.
