Hiriyur, October 21, 2022: Karnataka Regional Youth Convention - Journey of the Cross in the Diocese of Shimoga, Reached the last Parish at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur, Chitradurga district on October 16th Sunday at 5pm.

ICYM President from Chitradurga handed over the Cross to Mr. Lawrence Stanley ICYM President of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur.

Cross was brought to the Church in procession and kept for veneration by Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza near the altar. On 16th October Fr Franklin D'Souza led the service and prayed for the success of the Regional Youth Convention which will be held on October 22nd to 24th at Bangalore.

From 17th October to 20th October veneration of the Cross was held at 6pm to 7:30pm. Six SCCs and youth led the prayer. On 20th October from 7:30pm to 9pm youth of the parish led the prayer.

Diocesan ICYM Director Rev. Fr Pius D'Souza initiated the journey of the KRYC Cross in different parishes of the Diocese of Shimoga. Nearly 50 Youth from the Diocese of Shimoga are traveling to Regional Youth Convention.

Before the celebration of the Regional Youth Convention in Karnataka KRYC Cross travels all the 14 Dioceses of Karnataka. Youth as well as people pray for the success of the Regional Youth Convention.
