Chitradurga, Hiriyur, January 22, 2023: Our Lady of Assumption Parishioners of Hiriyur celebrated the feast of St. Sebastian in a grand manner on January 22nd.

January 20th Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza hoisted the flag and offered Holy Eucharist at St. Sebastian's Prayer Hall at St. Sebastian ward, Harishyandra Ghat which is located 3kms away from the Church.

On 22nd At 6:30pm Rev. Fr David Dellario, Harihar blessed the chariot of St. Sebastian. This was followed by a procession. At 7pm Rev. Fr Anthony Peter, Rector & Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health, Basilica, Harihar offered festal Mass together with Fr Franklin D'Souza, Fr Nelson D'Souza and Fr David Dellario. In homily Fr Anthony Peter narrated how the feast started at Hiriyur and he also spoke the witnessing value of St. Sebastian. He was invited to walk in the footsteps of the St. Sebastian as he loved Jesus passionately and faithfully. He was convinced about his faith. We too walk by faith and not by sight.

At the end of the Mass Parish Priest Fr Franklin D’Souza thanked everyone who helped in making the feast a success. He congratulated Rev. Fr Anthony Peter as he completed Golden Birthday on January 7th. He also thanked Fr David Dellario.
