October 31, 2021; Synod 2023 (Journeying together) - Inauguration and training program was held at Our Lady of Assumption Church Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Diocese of Shimoga.

Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza offered the Holy Eucharist and preached on meaning and purpose of this Synod. He explained together with the scripture references meaning of 'Journeying together'. Assistant Parish Priest Fr Alphonse Nelson D'Souza and Manager and Correspondent of Lourdes Boys School, Davanagere Fr Alwyn Stanislaus were the concelebrants.

In the evening at 5pm A training program regarding Synod 2023 was held in the church.
Fr Franklin D'Souza and Fr Nelson D'Souza enlightened the Parish Council, Parish Finance Council, SCC Animators, Legion of Mary, St. Vincent de Paul, ICYM and YCS about the proceedings of consultation in the various levels of the parish. 46 members from various groups attended the program.

Fr Nelson D'Souza thanked everyone for their active participation.
