Mangalore: March 5th Fr Franklin D’Souza preached one day retreat for Fr Muller’s  Nurses, Medical students, Paramedical students, staff also religious at Kankanady, Mangalore.

At 8 am Fr Franklin concelebrated Holy Eucharist with Fr. Denis D’Sa - Administrator of FMMC, Fr Felix Monteiro-Spiritual director & Counsellor, Fr. Louis Vas -Chaplain. In his homily he explained about the storms that we face in life. In the storm of life there is PURPOSE, PRESENCE & there is POWER of God. Hence we should never lose Faith in JESUS. He also explained God’s word Transforms us, we have to Translate his message in our lives also he explained day’s gospel about Transfiguration of Jesus and invited young people to “Listen to Jesus”.

After the mass at 9.15 am Mr. Suraj and his team led the group in to heart touching praise and worship. From 10am to 11.10am Fr Franklin preached on Luke 5:1-10 it’s about Fall & Call of Simon, how Simon realizes the power of the word of God. He invited young people not to hide from the Lord but to hide in the Lord. He also narrated incident of Prophet Jonah.

From 11.30am to 12.30am Fr Franklin preached on the topic “Repent & Believe” explained the biblical passage from John 5:1-14, he stressed vs.14 “Now you have been made well do not sin anymore”. He explained how sin enters in youth life, also how sin brings sickness, there is a way out which is shown by Jesus by repenting for one’s sins and believing in God’s mercy. He told that Jesus is sent by God for this reason; to heal & to forgive.

After the lunch break at 1.30 Mr. Prem & Team led the young people in to Praise & Worship. From 2pm to 4.30pm  Fr Franklin preached on “Forgiveness brings healing”  he explained with various biblical references like Mathew 18:21-35, 1 John 2:9-11, Sirach 27:30-28:7, Mathew 5:43-44, Romans 12:21, Sirach 3:1-17 & 1 Corinthians 11:21-31
He connected Forgiveness & Eucharist, value of ones own parents, also how Jesus gave us an example about forgiveness during last supper as well as on the cross. Then Fr. Franklin led the congregation in to healing as well as an anointing adoration. He specially prayed for the good health of those who are suffering form ailments as well as for the memory power, concentration & for divine knowledge of students.

Fr. Denis D’Sa Director of the Fr. Muller’s Medical College thanked Fr Franklin for his heart touching preaching. He wished him all the success in his national youth ministry. He specially thanked Fr. Felix Montero, Chaplain of Fr. Muller’s Hospital for his tireless effort in organizing such retreat during the season of lent. He praised the divine voices of Mr. Suraj & his ten team members for leading the students in to praise & worship. He also thanked all those who helped in making this retreat a success. Fr. Denis D’Sa also shared his experience how God led him in his priestly mission especially during difficult stage of his life. He concluded his thanks giving by singing “Amazing Grace”.
