March 20, 2022 : International Women's day celebrated at Holy Family Deanery, Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Diocese of Shimoga.

Guests of the day were : Mrs. Dilshad Unnisa - lawyer and Director of Lawyers guild, Chitradurga, Rev. Fr George K. A. Dean of Holy Family Deanery, Sr. Eliza - Director of Women commission, Diocese of Shimoga, Fr Alphonse Nelson D'Souza - Principal of Assumption English High school, Hiriyur, Sr. Rita Saldanha - Director of Women commission, Holy Family Deanery, Sr. Josephine from Chitradurga, Sr. Metty and Sr. Jude from Hiriyur and Mrs. Madala Maria, Ward councillor, Hiriyur.

Program began with Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr George K. A. and homily preached by Fr Nelson D'Souza Assistant Parish Priest of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur.

After the mass Program was held at Assumption Church hall where messages were delivered by guests and cultural programs were arranged.

Nearly 70 women from various parishes of Holy Family Deanery were present.
